Summary

The Public Performance Act of Korea aims to ensure the freedom of artistic expression, create a safe environment for performers and performing arts workers, and promote healthy public performance activities. It defines public performances, performers, performance halls, and related terms. The Act mandates a five-year master plan formulated by the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, encompassing training and support for performers, expansion of performance facilities, and the international promotion of Korean performing arts. Local governments are required to submit detailed plans annually and report on their implementation to ensure regionally balanced development.
