K-pop related posts on social media platform Twitter surpassed 6.7 billion in 2020 up 600 million from the previous year.
Twitter said K-pop's popularity has actually grown despite the lack of offline concerts and fan meet-ups because of the pandemic.
The country tweeting the most about K-pop was Indonesia, followed by Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, the U.S. and Brazil.
The most tweeted K-pop artist was BTS followed by NCT, EXO and Blackpink.
Meanwhile, Blackpink's first-ever online concert attracted some 280-thousand viewers over the weekend bringing in around 9 million U.S. dollars from ticket sales.
According to YG Entertainment, the concert was most watched in the US… followed by Thailand, the Philippines and Japan.
