Directed by Yeon Sang-ho and based on the webtoon of the same title, the six-episode first season featured supernatural beings that appear out of nowhere to condemn people to hell, while a religious group rises to power as society grapples with the chaos.
The second season will continue where the first left off, exploring the sudden resurrections of those previously condemned.
Kim Sung-cheol will replace Yoo Ah-in, who is currently on trial for alleged drug use, while most of the original cast will reprise their roles.
"I'm thrilled to reconnect with viewers after three years," director Yeon said, adding the new season will be "packed with intriguing questions" for fans of the first season.
"Hellbound" Season 2 will premiere at the 29th Busan International Film Festival early next month and will be released on Netflix on Oct. 25.
