Samsung Electronics said it has started offering nearly 4,000 hours of free-to-stream Korean shows and movies on its Samsung TV Plus service in the U.S. through partnerships with CJ ENM, entertainment production company New Id and online distribution firm KT Alpha from Thursday (U.S. time).
The South Korean tech giant said it will bring monthly exclusives from CJ ENM with hit series like "Voice 4" and "Dark Hole," along with romance drama "Doom at Your Service" to U.S. audiences. The psychological thriller drama "Beyond Evil" distributed by New ID will also be arriving soon.
Samsung TV Plus is a free ad-supported content service based on the company's Tizen operating system, and is currently installed on around 300 million Samsung smart TVs worldwide.
"We aim to establish Samsung TV Plus as the leading global platform for K-content and build an ecosystem that fosters mutual growth with various Korean content partners," Choi Yong-hoon, vice president of Samsung Electronics' visual display business division, said.
