The sixth episode of tvN's women-centric drama "Mine" set its highest viewership rating Sunday, garnering 8.2 percent viewership nationwide and 8.7 percent in the Seoul metropolitan area.

The 16-part soap opera was also the most watched cable channel program in the 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. prime time slot on Sunday, according to Nielsen Korea. After beginning with a 6.6 percent viewership on May 8, the series has seen a rise in popularity thanks to plot twists and the actors' realistic portrayals of their characters.

"Mine" follows two daughters-in-law ― Jung Seo-hyeon (Kim Seo-hyung) and Seo Hee-soo (Lee Bo-young) ― of a conglomerate owner family, who try to combat prejudice and find their authentic identities.

It is directed by Lee Na-jeong, who previously took helm of Netflix's "Love Alarm" (2019-21) and KBS's "Fight for My Way" (2017). Baek Mi-kyung, the writer of "Strong Girl Bong-soon" (2017), pens the script.

"'Mine' is a hot and fascinating story of strong and outspoken characters," Lee said during an online press conference, May 8.

One of the series' lead actors, Kim Seo-hyung, debuted as an actress in 1994. She is best known for her roles in popular dramas "Temptation of Wife" (2008) and "SKY Castle" (2018). Lee Bo-young, who began her acting career in 2003, starred in a number of hit works such as "My Daughter Seo-young" (2012) and "Can Hear Your Voice" (2013).

"Mine" is also screening on Netflix.
