A three-nation esports tournament with South Korea, China and Japan will kick off in Seoul on Friday for a three-day run.

The Esports Championships East Asia is the first of its kind to be held and will be hosted by South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

It will be held at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium with no audience due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be aired live through Naver Sports TV, the event’s official YouTube channel and live streaming platform Twitch.

China and Japan will also relay the event in real-time via their own channels.

The championships will feature four esports titles over PC, mobile and other categories, including League of Legends, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Clash Royale and PES 2021.

Some 130 players and staff will take part.
