K-pop girl group aespa will be releasing its first mini-album, about 11 months after its debut last year.
The group's agency SM Entertainment announced Tuesday that aespa's new album "Savage" will drop on Oct. 5.
The album will consist of six tracks in various genres.
The four-member act ― whose members are Karina, Winter, Ningning and Giselle ― debuted last November with the single "Black Mamba." The group's debut garnered a buzz with its unique concept that the members also exist in the virtual world, or "metaverse." Each member has an avatar as an alter ego that also acts as a part of the group.
The group shot to stardom with its debut single, the first SM group to do so since NCT, which was launched in 2016. The music video for "Black Mamba" scored over 100 million views on YouTube after only 51 days, following its release on Nov. 17 last year.
It has released two more singles since then: "Forever" in February and "Next Level" in May. "Next Level" topped various music charts after hitting streaming sites including Melon and Gaon Chart. It also made it onto two Billboard charts ― the Global 200 and the World Digital Song Sales Chart ― and garnered over 100 million views on YouTube for its music video within only 32 days of its release.
