Aespa is set to become the first K-pop girl group to perform at America's largest Thanksgiving parade, which is scheduled to take place on Nov. 25 (U.S. time).

Dating back to 1924, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is organized by the department store chain, which announced the lineup of this year's performers on its official website Monday.

"One of South Korea's most daring new K-pop acts, this all-female foursome is made up of Karina, Winter, Giselle and Ningning, who each have avatar counterparts that live in a virtual world," the company said in its introduction of the SM Entertainment group.

"It's a sci-fi concept that has helped them rack up 100 million YouTube views for their debut video, Black Mamba. The song also topped charts in 95 countries when it launched in November 2020. Plus, their debut EP, Savage, has made a big splash stateside, entering at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 chart, which is the highest ranking ever for a K-pop girl group's debut on the U.S. album chart."

Macy's has yet to reveal which songs aespa will perform at the three-hour event. In addition to the four-piece act, several other celebrities including American singer-songwriter Andy Grammer ― best known for his anthem "Honey, I'm Good" ― and "Glee" star Darren Criss will also join the parade. The parade is slated to air on NBC and Telemundo.

Aespa is SM's first girl group since Red Velvet which debuted in 2016. The quartet's latest EP, "Savage," which hit shelves in October, sold 510,000 copies during the first 15 days of its release.
