Krafton has officially secured a licensing agreement with Japanese developer Pocket Pair, acquiring the global mobile rights for the game 'Palworld.' This move will allow Krafton to bring 'Palworld' to the mobile gaming market, adapting its key features to the mobile platform. PUBG Studios, part of Krafton, will lead the development of the mobile adaptation.
Initially launched in January on Steam and Xbox for early access and released globally on PlayStation 5 in September, 'Palworld' is a unique open-world survival game that features over 100 distinct creatures known as 'Pals.' These creatures can participate in battles, assist in construction, and take part in agricultural and factory activities within the game.
'Palworld' has seen impressive commercial success, selling 15 million copies on Steam and amassing 10 million Xbox users within the first month of release. It has also reached a peak of the third-highest number of concurrent players on Steam, with roughly 2.1 million active users.
