On the 21st, NCSoft revealed its strategic shift to transform the 'Throne and Liberty' (TL) division into a dedicated game development studio, with ambitions to strengthen TL's global presence. Tentatively named 'Studio X', this new entity will focus on enhancing the development expertise and creativity needed for TL, promoting agile decision-making to ensure the game remains a leading global MMORPG IP.
Following its successful global launch on October 1, 'Throne and Liberty' has attracted over 400,000 users worldwide, with players logging more than 24 million hours. The game quickly claimed the top spot on Steam's Top Sellers list upon release and maintains strong sales rankings in key markets including the United States, Japan, Canada, France, and Germany, even three weeks after the launch.
Co-CEOs Kim Taek-jin and Park Byung-moo have highlighted their commitment to fostering creative and engaging game development through this new studio, seeking a robust collaboration with Amazon Games. By leveraging platforms like Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, TL is broadening its reach across North America, Europe, Oceania, and Japan.
