Mr. Romance, known for producing the Disney+ original series 'Moving,' has unveiled its collaboration with the French Studio Canal to co-produce a new six-episode OTT series titled 'Red Circle.' This venture represents the first Korea-France co-production, reimagining Jean-Pierre Melville's classic film 'Le Cercle Rouge' featuring Alain Delon into a television series.
Set in Busan, the series will boast a vibrant international cast from Korea, the US, UK, and France, offering dialogues in both Korean and English. Renowned for 'Peaky Blinders,' Steven Knight will lead the project’s planning and storytelling, while 'Miss Sloane' writer Jonathan Perera will lend his talents as a screenwriter.
Studio Canal looks forward to this partnership with the Korean content industry and is eager to expand its reach throughout Asia. Meanwhile, Mr. Romance anticipates that this collaboration will further elevate Korea's presence on the global stage in film and drama production.
