The Ministry of Science and ICT, in collaboration with the Korea Communications Agency and the Educational Broadcasting System (EBS), has announced the 'K DOCS' investment symposium to promote the production and global dissemination of Korean documentaries. Now in its third year, the event seeks to foster international partnerships and attract investment in Korean documentary projects.
The symposium will kick off with an opening ceremony on July 20 at the Seoul Press Center, lasting four days. Attendees will have the opportunity to see presentations of various documentary projects and engage in networking sessions with industry professionals from countries such as Japan, Canada, Spain, Denmark, and Indonesia.
Projects selected through a prior open call will be displayed at the Seoul Museum of Craft Art, vying for awards amounting to 740 million KRW. Additionally, these projects will have a chance to participate in the Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA) investment symposium in November. Four mid-length documentaries, presented at the 'EBS Commissioning Pitch,' stand to secure broadcasting slots on EBS DocuPrime.
