Naver Webtoon is set to release a new AI service called "AI Caricature", allowing users to generate caricatures in the style of popular webtoon artist Jo Seok. Users can upload a single photo, and the AI will create a caricature that highlights their facial features in Jo Seok's distinctive drawing style.
This service builds on the previous "Toon Filter" but is more advanced, requiring only one photo instead of multiple angles. Initially, it will feature Jo Seok's style from 'The Sound of Your Heart', with plans to incorporate other artists' styles in the future. The AI Caricature reflects Naver Webtoon's commitment to blending AI technology with popular webtoon IPs to enhance user engagement.
Naver Webtoon has been investing heavily in AI, developing tools to assist creators and offer unique experiences for readers. The 'Toon Filter' generated approximately 90 million images between May and December last year, gaining international popularity and expanding to various countries. CEO Kim Jun-koo emphasized the company's focus on continuous technological innovation and talent investment following Naver's recent Nasdaq listing.
