XR Career Education Highlights Local Maritime Jobs

Edtech startup Plovista has signed a contract with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of

Korea Maritime & Ocean University to develop an Unreal Engine–based VR education tool for “local

entrepreneurship capability building” in Busan. The company is also building an XR career-education series

that combines VR with eco-friendly kits to spotlight region-specific jobs such as Jeju haenyeo.

♦  Key Case overview

      • Plovista will develop and operate VR content for a “Busan local startup content development

education” project using Unreal Engine and VR technology, targeting public-sector training programs.

      • The deal is positioned as official validation of Plovista’s immersive media and instructional design

          capabilities in a public-institution setting.

♦  Content / Business point

      • Under its “Forest of Occupations” Vol.1: Jeju Haenyeo project, Plovista is creating a hybrid career-education model

that pairs Unreal-based VR experiences with eco-friendly offline kits.

      • The content focuses on jobs in regions at risk of population decline, using field research at haenyeo

villages and interviews with working divers to ensure realism.

      • In VR, learners experience issues like marine desertification and simulate jobrelated activities with tools

such as the “Reach & Pull Launcher,” then transition to hands-on activities via the kit.

♦  Global / Buyer angle

      • Plovista has already built references with KMI (Korea Maritime Institute), the Korea Marine Environment

Management Corporation and DDP design exhibitions, signaling a solution that aligns well with public

          tenders and social-impact programs.
