Detail
The Korea Creative Content Agency and the Korean Cultural Center in Japan will host the 'Korea Drama Selection 2024' from August to October to promote K-dramas in Japan. Celebrating its sixth year, this event aims to continue spreading the Hallyu wave by introducing current and upcoming Korean dramas to local fans across Tokyo, Niigata, and Osaka.
The event includes five screenings and talk shows with actors from popular dramas. In Tokyo, where three screenings are scheduled, actors like Kim Byung-chun, Min Young-ki, and Lee Se-on will share behind-the-scenes stories on July 13, 20, and 23, respectively. On September 18, the Niigata screening, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Niigata, will feature actor Park Yoo-seung discussing his roles in historical dramas. The final event on October 20 in Osaka will feature Kwon Hyun-bin, known for 'Love’s Andante,' who will conclude the series of events.
This year's screenings will present 14 notable K-dramas, including 'Yumi’s Cells,' 'The Crowned Clown,' '7 Escape,' 'Goryeo-Khitan War,' 'Taxi Driver 2,' 'The Real Has Come!,' and 'Ghost Doctor.' These events aim to deepen cultural exchange and cooperation between Korea and Japan, marking the upcoming 60th anniversary of normalized diplomatic relations. Further events such as a K-drama OST concert and the KoCoLo Awards will be held later this year.
