Detail
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) are gearing up to host the 'International Broadcasting Video Market (BCWW, Broadcast Worldwide) 2024' from July 27 to 29 at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. Announcing the event on the 22nd, organizers emphasized its significance as Asia's largest international broadcast content market, a prestigious role it has fulfilled since 2001.
BCWW has emerged as an essential platform for stakeholders in the broadcasting industry, both domestically and internationally. Last year's event set a new benchmark with $98.09 million in export contracts. This year's program, themed “Opening the Future of the Global Stage,” will include diverse activities to foster international exchanges and boost the global reach of Korean content. Highlights will feature broadcasting content exhibitions, business matchmaking, 'OnAir' promotional events targeting overseas markets, showcases of content and K-formats, industry trend seminars, and a dedicated K OTT promotional hall.
The event will host 277 key video and platform companies from around the globe, featuring a record 412 booths. Nations such as France, Japan, and Taiwan will set up national pavilions to promote their enterprises. Approximately 180 leading Korean firms are expected to participate, with 'Coupang Play' marking its debut with an independent booth to unveil a sports-focused platform strategy. Noteworthy participants, including the three major terrestrial broadcasters, CJ ENM, SLL, Studio Genie, and Raemong Raein, will actively promote their flagship productions.
