The Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency and Serbia have signed an MOU for global cooperation in the content and gaming industry. Attendees included Nemanja Grbić, the Serbian ambassador to South Korea, and Kim Tae-yeol, the head of the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency. The agreement aims to enhance international collaboration in ICT-based convergent content, gaming, and metaverse industries through information exchange and networking, particularly linking with Serbia's national creative industry platform, Serbia Creative.
Kim Tae-yeol expressed that partnering with Serbia, a leading ICT country in Eastern Europe with strong growth potential in ICT and content, is significant for fostering a high-value future content industry. This partnership aims to create an open ecosystem that attracts technology, talent, and companies to Busan, establishing it as a global digital hub.
Serbian ambassador Nemanja Grbić highlighted Serbia's rapid development in the creative industry, which now accounts for 6.5% of the national GDP and employs about 7% of the workforce. The ambassador noted the unprecedented growth in the gaming and audiovisual sectors over the past decade. He emphasized the importance of Serbia Creative's major project, "Ložionica," a €52 million creative center poised to drive innovation across Europe. This MOU marks a promising start for beneficial cooperation between Serbia Creative and the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency, with expectations for further advancements.
