Detail
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Korea Copyright Commission, is set to host the '2024 Copyright Issues Symposium' on August 29-30 at the Commission's headquarters in Jinju. Following the success of last year's 'Copyright Law Scholars Conference,' this event looks to broaden participation to include more legal professionals and intellectual property experts.
The symposium will gather over 70 participants, including law school professors, intellectual property judges, and attorneys, to discuss recent copyright challenges stemming from advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and technology. The event will kick off with a keynote speech by Ethics Council Chairperson Hong Seung-gi and will feature three thematic discussions on current copyright issues.
Discussion topics will cover rational resolutions for copyright disputes, expanded protection areas due to technological advancements, and an examination of copyright registration systems. The Ministry aims to collect a diverse range of expert opinions to shape future copyright policies effectively.
