The Korean Media Rating Board (KMRB) and Thailand’s Department of Cultural Promotion (DCP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 31 to collaborate on film classification systems. This partnership is set to strengthen policy cooperation between the two nations and foster a healthier viewing culture.
The MOU outlines the exchange of information on classification policies and processes, joint research on classification systems, and combined efforts to provide educational resources on classification to the public. This agreement underscores a mutual commitment to developing a robust film classification system through global policy cooperation and collaboration.
The DCP, operating under Thailand’s Ministry of Culture, oversees cultural promotion and preservation, along with media classification responsibilities. This partnership is anticipated to pave the way for the enhancement of classification systems in both countries.
