Interview with Seo, Woo-Suk, CEO at bemyfriends

 

 

Led by K-pop, the fandom economy has grown into a massive, borderless industry.

Fandom tech, which transforms fans’ passionate energy into a sustainable growth engine for both creators

and businesses, has emerged as a new strategic core in the global market.

In this interview, we spoke with Seo, Woo-Suk, CEO of bemyfriends, a company pioneering the creator

economy through its global fandom business solution bstage. Under the theme “The Economy Built by Fans: Fandom Tech,”

we explored bemyfriends’ vision and goals, the potential and challenges of the fandom business, and

the future markets that fandom tech is poised to shape. Seo, Woo-Suk has led technology and strategic

investments at leading corporations such as Delivery Hero and GS Shop.

Most notably, he founded beNX (now Weverse Company), the platform subsidiary of HYBE,

where he successfully launched Weverse and Weverse Shop. As a key figure in expanding K-pop’s fan

economy worldwide, he helped establish a cross border e-commerce network spanning over 220 countries,

leveraging the IPs of artists such as BTS.
