Production company Pan Entertainment revealed on October 7 that the film adaptation was initiated due to sustained demand from both Japanese distributors and fans, aligning with the drama's 20th anniversary in Japan. The movie is scheduled for a winter 2025 release in Japan, with editing currently in progress.

Original drama director Yoon Seok-ho is actively participating in the film's production, collaborating with music director Lee Ji-soo, known for his work on 'Oldboy.' The project will feature orchestral renditions of the classic soundtrack, enhancing the enhanced visuals with a rich, new auditory layer.
