The inaugural World Webtoon Awards, often referred to as the "Cannes of the Webtoon Industry," has unveiled its list of honorees for this year's event. Among the ten webtoons recognized with the Main Award are titles such as 'Garbage Time,' 'Solo Leveling,' 'To Help You Understand,' 'The Great,' 'The Boxer,' 'Wife Killer,' 'The Remarried Empress,' 'Omniscient Reader,' 'Hell 2: The Resurrected,' and 'No Home.'

Additional accolades were given to newer and international talents. Jibal received the Rookie Artist Award for 'Unemployed Millionaire,' and the Overseas Artist Award went to Greek creator Mangaka OD for 'Tomahawk Angel.' The Innovative IP Award was bestowed upon 'Tastes of Horror' for its successful expansion into multiple formats, including webtoons, novels, and films. The final Grand Prize winner and the Chairman's Award will be announced during the ceremony on September 26 in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the World Webtoon Awards aim to bolster South Korea's position as a leader in the webtoon industry, with no restrictions based on nationality or publication country. Alongside the awards ceremony, a webtoon festival will take place from September 26 to 29 in Seongsu-dong, featuring various pop-up stores and showcasing a wide range of webtoon intellectual properties.
