Shift Up's 'Stellar Blade,' published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, secured seven significant accolades at the 2024 Korea Game Awards in Busan on November 13. The honors included the coveted Grand Prize and recognition across four technical and creative categories: game planning, scenario, graphics, character, and sound. In addition, 'Stellar Blade' was celebrated for excellence in development and was recognized as the popular game of the year.
Organized by the Korea Games Industry Association and backed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Game Awards represent the pinnacle of gaming excellence in South Korea. This achievement follows a successful previous year for Shift Up, which garnered acclaim for 'Goddess of Victory: NIKKE' at the 2023 ceremony.
'Stellar Blade,' launched on April 26, marks Shift Up's entry into the AAA console market under CEO Kim Hyung-tae's direction. The game has resonated globally, topping weekly sales charts in key regions such as the U.S., Japan, and the UK, despite being a new entrant. This victory marks the fifth Korean Game Award associated with Director Kim Hyung-tae's projects.
