The mobile simulation game 'Office Cat: Idle Tycoon,' developed by Neptune's subsidiary Tripla Co., Ltd., has achieved over 20 billion won (about 200 million dollars) in cumulative sales and garnered 8 million downloads in just six months since its international release. At its zenith, the game attracted more than 300,000 daily active users, and since July, it has sustained an average of around 250,000 daily users.
The game's revenue is predominantly sourced from the United States, Korea, and Japan, which contribute to roughly 70% of its total earnings. Specifically, 35% of the revenue comes from the US, 20% from Korea, and 14% from Japan. 'Office Cat' leads in the simulation gaming category on Google Play Store, ranking first in Korea, second in Japan, and fourth in the US, and is among the top 10 most popular games in 20 countries on the Apple App Store.
In 'Office Cat,' players engage in decorating various offices and managing feline employees to build thriving businesses. Combining idle production elements with management simulation, the game allows for business expansion even when players are offline. Its intuitive and user-friendly interface appeals to a wide range of ages. Kang Seok, Tripla's Chief Product Officer, has outlined plans to strengthen the game's presence in the US through targeted localization, capitalizing on a stable revenue base in the region.
