A.I. Media art

We are witnessing a special moment when the boundaries between technological advances and art become blurred. The emergence of this new intelligence, also known as AI, is changing not only our lifestyles, but also our perception and creation of art. Having already permeated our lives in various forms, from navigation to mobile applications, A.I. is now expanding its role in the realm of art as well.
The advancement of these technologies in the art world has sparked a new debate in the art world, spurring changes in human imagination and art, just like in the past, when photographs or ordinary toilets seen in bathrooms began to gain recognition as works of art. Now, artificial intelligence is at the forefront of that change.
This exhibition asks and explores the most fundamental questions about whether A.I. can be used and integrated into the art creation process, and whether works generated by A.I. (images, videos, writings, etc.) can have artistic value. We imagine intelligent beings like Jarvis we saw in the movie, giving A.I. autonomy, and expecting a variety of (tailored) results.
So, what I thought important when I made this work was to give A.I. maximum autonomy and look at the results that came out of it, rather than producing good results with high visual completeness. In the process, I was able to see how important it is to define and execute commands in language when making a work using A.I. These languages are a means of communicating our creative intentions to A.I., and they have a decisive influence on the direction and depth of the resulting works of art. Language goes beyond just means of communication, and it is the foundation of creation, and it plays an important role in the interaction between A.I. and humans.
When I first encountered A.I., I remembered being saddened to see a scene in which one of Isaac Asimov's novels, which I read as a child, was spinning while performing two conflicting rules of the three main laws of robotics, namely, executive orders and self-protection rules at the same time. Asimov set ethical guidelines between humans and machines in a number of novels, including Runaround and I.ROBOT, which I think can also have important messages for us in art creation through A.I. We also need to think about how A.I. will function as a human creative partner or tool, and the social and ethical concerns we will face in dealing with these technologies.
Through this exhibition, you will experience in-depth thoughts on various phenomena and debates occurring at the boundary between artificial intelligence and art. It is a journey to seek human creativity and a new understanding of art beyond technological advances. I hope this exhibition will be an opportunity for you to think about the infinite possibilities of art that artificial intelligence can create, to rethink the nature of art, and to join me on this amazing journey how human language and technology will open up new horizons of creation.
