Summary

Mung. Pulgu is an animated series that personifies the bruises that form on the body. The character’s name, Pulgu, comes from the Korean word “Mung” (meaning bruise) and the phrase “mung-i pullinda”, which in Korean means a bruise heals and disappears.

Season 1 of <Mung, Pulgu> consists of 24 episodes, each 4 minutes long, and was broadcast on KBS 1TV.

The story is composed of three main settings: the everyday spaces where children live, the surface of the skin where bruises "Mung" appear, and the inner world of the skin where bruises "Mung" are formed and healed. When an external impact is transmitted into the body, a bruise — Pulgu — undergoes various healing methods, from ice packs to ointments.

Inside the skin, depicted as a vast ocean, platelets, white blood cells, red blood cells, and other blood components respond to these treatments. Together, they work to restore the body.

Mung. Pulgu, conveying a message of the body’s mysteries and its power of recovery, tells the story of our childhood and the present experiences of our children.
