Summary
*Content Statement
Musical <You & It> explores how artificial intelligence transforms the essence of human emotion, memory, and love.
It poses a profound philosophical question:
Do we truly love a person for who they are, or for the emotions and memories we share with them?
As we enter an era where AI can interpret and replicate emotions,
the musical delicately portrays the emotional confusion and moral dilemmas humans may face.
The story of Kyujin and Mina goes beyond a conventional romance—inviting the audience to reflect on the values
that must be preserved to uphold human dignity in a world where humanity and technology coexist.
Through a poetic narrative, sophisticated stagecraft, and stirring string arrangements
that amplify the characters’ emotional journeys, <You & It> offers a deeply immersive and moving experience.
The show invites audiences to reconsider the meaning of love and memory in the face of advancing technology.
By examining the evolving relationship between humans and AI,
<You & It> leaves a lasting impression on global audiences
- combining a forward-looking theme with a deeply resonant message.
*Synopsis
A slightly sad story, a slightly happy story
Are we still wandering somewhere in between?
In the near future,
Kyujin, a man who works with metal, and Mina, a woman who works with clay,
once shared their lives and their craft in an old house in Bukseong-ro.
But now, Mina—Kyujin’s beloved wife—is gone.
Alone in the space they once filled together,
Kyujin is tormented by grief and longing.
One day, he receives a mysterious email offering
to create an AI replica of a deceased loved one.
After much hesitation, he places the order.
He no longer has to cling to memories alone.
Now, “YOU”—who looks just like her—exists
beside him again, in the same place, in the same form.
