Summary
An SOS from one hundred years ago finally reaches Earth, and it rekindles the dying
hope.
On one peaceful day, children are onboard the newly built space shuttle called Star
Ocean which will take them on a trip to Mars. However, the shuttle goes missing due
to an unexpected accident. The government sends out a rescue team, but their
search soon comes to a stop. The people who are responsible for this accident try to
buy time by pointing fingers at each other, and the parents of the missing children
become subject to the government supports’ derision and lies.
A hundred years later, earth has become more unlivable due to pollution and social
indifference to change the course of this inevitable doom. Old people are forced to
having their memories manipulated; they are planted with the copies of dead people’s
memories, and believing them to be real, the people assume they are living in a
paradise without any pain. In this virtually created paradise, the memories of the
missing children grow faint each day; however, one day, an SOS sent by one of the
missing children reaches Earth after a hundred years. The parents of the missing
children are well over one hundred years old, but they decide to look for their children
despite the government’s hampering and interference. In their journey, they are
threatened with danger at the space station and the Lake of Time where time
becomes horribly distorted. They also come face to face with the government’s
hideous design behind the Paradise System and how their children went missing.
