Followed another film called <THE LAST PRINCESS> which also reached at 5.6 million admissions in 2016, one of top 10 successful films of the year.
In 2018, <GONJIAM: Haunted Asylum> released and got lots of good critics and big success, got 2.7million admissions Horror film.
In 2020, a noire drama <THE MAN STANDING NEXT> and a hardboiled action <DELIVER US FROM EVIL>, which are more than USD 10 million budget each, released. It received enthusiastic response by audiences (2020 Box Office #1,2) and critics.
In 2023, a historical based controversial political drama <12.12:THE DAY> released and recorded enourmous success with all time KR Box Office #5 with $94.8M (13.12M adm.)
Various films will released in 2024. <HEAVEN: TO THE LAND OF HAPPINESS> which was officially selected in FESTIVAL DE CANNES OFFICIAL SELECTION 2020, a debatable drama <A NORMAL FAMILY> invited in GALA presentation Toronto International Film Festival 2023, a remake of phenomenal Taiwan romance <SECRET: Untold Melody>, a Horror Comedy <HANDSOME GUYS> invited in SITGES International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia 2024, a spy action blockbuster <HARBIN> which was filmed at Latvia & Mongolia are waiting for releasing.
At the moment of 2024, an action comedy <BOSS>, a drug thriller <YADANG:The Snitch> and the exoctic action-romance <NIGHT FEVER> filmed 100% in Bangkok have been in post-production.
The reputation as an acclaimed filmmaker is keeping with lots of various projects which have been developing and producing. It is spreading out to total contents company with about 70 contents including TV series and animations. <A GOOD MAN>(Traditional Media), <MADE IN KOREA>(OTT signed) has been filmed in 2024. Beyond the issue of low birth rate, 'sustainable growth' has become an issue of survival and immediate concern for humanity as we enter the age of aging. This is why POPOPO Magazine archives various references that shed light on the keyword 'care' and the first building block of society, the family, beyond the nurturer. Based on this understanding and empathy, POPOPO launched the 'Low Birthrate Future Policy Forum' to improve social awareness. - Ruby Records is a production company that started as a performance venue and music label in 2008, and is engaged in a variety of music-centered activities that include album production, concerts, festival planning, and managing the Incheon Motel space.
As of 2024, we have produced and released approximately 1,500 projects consisting of music and albums, and operate promotional channels for production content such as performances, festivals, and videos along with artist management. You can find various releases and merchandise at the Ruby Records store.
Every year, Ruby Records searches for new talent, accepting recommendations and applications for “label pick” musicians. The “Label Pick” project, which has been in progress since 2015, has since continued to grow from exclusive contracts with Motte (2017), Land of Peace (2017), Rainbow Note (2019), and Woo Ye-rin (2021).
Ruby Records annually produces "Smile, Love, Weekend", a festival that can be enjoyed by men and women of all ages, in addition to "SOUND BOUND," a similar event with the theme of music and travel. Also produced by the label is "One Island Music Picnic," and a year-end countdown music festival called "Sweet Ending Party."
Ruby Records also participated as a production partner for the famous Pentaport Rock Festival from 2011 to 2018.
Ruby Records is a producer and partner of the Seoul Record Fair, the Gapyeong Music Station 1939 Music Tour, and the Eunpyeong Music Market M. A label showcase, market where artists' albums and merchandise can be found, and an LP record market with various offerings are held each year.
Korean music labels commonly work together to producing quality music as the Record Label Industry Association of Korea. (L.I.A.K).
The Incheon Motel, originally built in the 1960s in Incheon and used by sailors, was bought and rebuilt as the Ruby Salon, which operated from 2008 to 2011. It is currently being operated as a space for cultural enrichment, music venue, and pub where local artists and music lovers can be active together.
