Hello,

My name is Sejin Shin, a story artist who began as a novelist and now aspires to create webtoons. I made my debut in 2000 and have published numerous novels over the years. Recently, I’ve taken on the challenge of entering the webtoon field, but in a unique way: collaborating with a doll artist to create webtoons using photographed dolls, later processed and composited in Photoshop.

Because this approach is unconventional, entering the market has not been easy. However, those who have seen the work respond with excitement and encouragement for its originality. I personally believe that the medium itself is not what matters most in storytelling. Whether it takes the form of a novel or a webtoon, what excites me more is not fitting into pre-existing formats but creating something new.

Long before AI became widespread, I was already handcrafting webtoons as luxury art pieces—refining each detail, pixel by pixel, with handmade dolls. And yet, I remain open to the possibility of one day collaborating with AI as well.

Walking a path that no one else has taken comes with risks and real costs, which can sometimes be challenging. That is why I am seeking opportunities to reach a wider audience and expand into a bigger world—with your support.
