“ laplanta” means “the plant” in Spanish, symbolizing our philosophy of nurturing the growth of the human seed.
laplanta promotes cultural understanding of children, helping them become global citizens united in the effort
to protect world peace and preserve nature.
Founded by a representative of Spanish interpreter and children's literature translator with 25 years of experience, laplanta is working to promote exchanges between Korea and Latin America through literature. In particular, in collaboration with the Yucatan Association of Korean Immigrant Descendants and Young Leaders, 'Cuentame Corea', a reading activity of Korean picture books, has been held once a month at the state library. In addition, the representative visits Mexico once a year and is conducting a 'Corea lee' program in collaboration with the Yucatan Ministry of Culture. In Korea, through the 'Travel to Mexico with books' program in schools and libraries the representative offers multicultural classes to read Mexican picture books and experience culture with toys and traditional costumes. In addition to publishing, we are engaged in activities to promote reading culture through collaboration with writers, reading programs, and cultural events.
Currently, based on her experience as a Spanish interpreter and Spanish-speaking countries expert, she is expanding her capabilities by networking in overseas book fairs from 2024 to become an export agency.
