Summary
Monolith's first Spatial Game Park (SGP) is '9.81 Park,' the world's first theme park centered around the sport of Gravity Racing. Located in Aewol-eup, '9.81 Park Jeju' opened in July 2020 and has quickly become a popular tourist destination, attracting 500,000 visitors annually.
The main attraction at 9.81 Park is 'RACE 981,' where participants race down the tracks using only gravitational acceleration (g=9.81m/s²), all while enjoying the magnificent views of Jeju Island. Visitors can receive personalized data, race records and real-time rankings through the '9.81 Park App.' The app also allows users to download or share 'race videos' recorded by GoPro cameras installed on our self-developed Gravity Racers (GR). Additionally, the license system further immerses users in challenges and growth, providing a game-like experience. Beyond RACE981, the park also operates around 15 different indoor activities, including Meta981, Sports Lab, and Ring˚˚Go, as well as F&B services, merchandise, and festivals to enrich the Jeju travel experience.
Building on the success of 9.81 Park Jeju, we have partnered with Incheon International Airport Authority to launch '9.81 Park Incheon’ in front of Terminal 1. This new park will be twice the size of the Jeju and will be an indoor theme park that integrates various media technologies to provide a unique, immersive experience akin to real-life racing games. Given its location at South Korea's gateway, 9.81 Park Incheon aims to attract a global audience, offering new experiences and entertainment to both visitors entering Korea and transit passengers at the airport.
Looking ahead, 9.81 Park plans to expand through domestic and international franchises. We will identify and select reputable partners with strong theme park operation capabilities to export K-theme parks that combine South Korean technological competence and innovative content.
