Dementia can affect anyone. Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and actor Robin Williams, all had to battle this disease that steals memories. It's not a disease exclusive to presidents, corporate executives, or famous actors.
As time goes on, birth rates are expected to decline while the elderly population increases. With society aging, the question of how to overcome elderly dementia, affecting 10% of the elderly population, has become a central issue.
Perhaps even an argument for national responsibility for dementia might emerge.
When dementia enters a household, the quality of life for the entire family can plummet overnight. Understanding these dementia-afflicted elders, who are increasingly becoming a societal issue, and finding wiser ways to live together, is the motivation behind planning this movie.
