Summary
PRIDE LIFE, Korea's number one funeral company, offers a very special service to its VIP members. "Just one person designated by the VIP member, and we will kill that one person no matter what!"
Cheol-soo, the number one team leader of Pride Life, enters high school to finish his studies under the guidance of his father, the CEO, and grandfather, the Chairman. He is confronted by Jong-hee, a police spy who poses as Cheol-soo in order to dig up information about Cheol-soo and Pride Life. Jong-hee and her team leader Sun-ha are on a life and death mission to avenge the loss of a loved one at the hands of Pride Life. Unlike Cheol-soo, who knows nothing and has feelings for Jong-hee, Jong-hee has an ulterior motive and fakes her own suicide. As he digs into the truth behind the suicide, Cheol-soo realises the dark side of PRIDE LIFE. Meanwhile, Jong-hee is at odds with Seon-ha, who has noticed a change in the man who started out as a revenge-seeker, but is now following the same path of corruption. Sun-ha kills Jong-hee's brother and manipulates PRIDE LIFE to blame him so that Jong-hee can attack PRIDE LIFE without their true purpose being discovered. In order to avenge the deaths of their respective loved ones, two funerals are held and Seon-ha leads the police to catch PRIDE LIFE. With only Kim and Cheol-soo left, Seon-ha turns the gun on them, not for arrest but for personal revenge. Cheol-soo sacrifices himself for Kim, and Jong-hee turns the gun on Seon-ha to save Cheol-soo's life, but in the end both Seon-ha and Jong-hee die inside Pride Life.
Two years later, Cheol-Soo's biological father, Kang Young-Ki, who is at the height of his power after being released from prison, approaches Cheol-Soo and orders the reinstatement of Pride Life in exchange for the death penalty. On the other hand, Kim Eui-moon, the adoptive father who fell in love with Cheol-soo's biological mother and raised Cheol-soo with love, writes from prison: "I didn't kill your mother. I loved her." As Cheol-soo struggles with his terrible loss, he answers the doorbell and is killed by a revenge bullet from Seon-ha's son.
