Summary
There are times I feel like I was born as a wrong answer of a ‘spot the difference’ game. The empty feeling of living in a world functioning normally, with only oneself floating about as the mistake. The ‘Orangi’ that appears in my work is also a representation of a tiger born as a wrong answer in this game. They try to live like others and in disguise as if they are one of normal; but in fact, they are only a tiger regardless of their effort to hide. The ‘Orangi’ efforts to become a sunflower that others will gladly approach or transform into another animal to blend with the herd, but their efforts render meaningless as their stripes and fluffy tail make it impossible for the disguise to complete themselves. ‘Orangi’ strives to become an answer in their true form. It is only because I am different from the others that I can become the correct answer. They eagerly wait for someone who would willingly love them for who they are. Just as the incorrect parts of a spot the difference game is the correct answer, with my work, I want to say that you can never be wrong for being different from others, and that you can only be more of a correct ‘special’ answer.
