Amid rising copyright conflicts within the gaming industry, the National Assembly is set to hold a significant forum focused on strategies to address these issues. Scheduled for the 21st at 10 a.m. in the 5th Conference Room of the Assembly Members' Office Building, the event, titled "How to Protect Game Copyright?", is being organized by the offices of Assembly Members Kim Yun-deok and Lim O-gyeong, with backing from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The forum will bring together major stakeholders such as the Game Rating and Administration Committee, the Korea Association of Game Industry, the Korea Copyright Protection Agency, the Korea Copyright Commission, and the Korea Creative Content Agency. Key topics will include defining gaming works, examining infringement cases, discussing protection strategies, and tackling the issue of illegal game duplication and its legal repercussions.
Moderated by Hwang Seong-gi from Hanyang University, the discussions will be led by distinguished presenters like Kim Chan-dong from the Copyright Commission, Yu Chang-seok of Kyung Hee University, and lawyer Kang Tae-wook. The panel will also feature experts including Lee Young-min from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Kim Gyeong-suk of Sangmyung University, Song Jin from the Content Promotion Agency, and lawyer Lee Yong-min. The event aims to develop tangible solutions for safeguarding game copyrights through expert dialogue.
