Summary
At Jongmyo Shrine in Seoul, on a snowy night, Haesol — a young Kkokdu spirit guide still in training — encounters Banpoon, the soul of a 14-year-old girl with no name and no memory. Belonging to neither the world of the living nor the dead, Banpoon has nowhere to go. Haesol decides to guide her to the Samdocheon River, and together they walk the Path of Memories — a world where joyful memories become golden coins and sorrowful ones turn to blue, each a toll for crossing the river.
Along the way, Banpoon faces the love and loss she shared with her grandmother, and the words she never got to say. Through encounters with goblins, Haetae, and the spirits Heukmoo and Baengmoo, the two slowly embrace each other's imperfections and move forward together. In the end, Banpoon reclaims her true name — Lee Jeonghye — and crosses the Samdocheon. And Haesol, at last, becomes a true Kkokdu.

Company Profile
Animation Story Other
JWK Ent
JWK ENT is a content production company specializing in the development, planning, and production of feature-length animation. Founded in 2021, the company has focused on developing original IP rooted in Korea’s distinctive emotional sensibility and mythological imagination.
CEO Jung Wookyung has over 20 years of international animation production experience. At ToonBox Entertainment in Canada, he served as Main Producer and overall production supervisor, overseeing the full production of the feature animated films The Nut Job, which opened at No. 2 at the North American box office and generated approximately KRW 160 billion in worldwide revenue, and Spark.
He later served as Head of Animation at Mofac & Alfred Imageworks, where he participated in the global production of Illumination’s Minions short film DRENCHED. He also joined King of Kings, formerly titled The Life of Our Lord, as a producer and played a key role in its early development process, including the revision of the first draft, concept design development, pre-production setup, and the production of the first trailer.
King of Kings later achieved strong commercial and audience results, including a No. 2 opening at the North American box office, approximately USD 60 million in North American box office revenue, one million admissions in Korea within 19 days of release, a 98% Rotten Tomatoes Popcornmeter score, and an A+ CinemaScore. This hands-on experience across the full production pipeline — from pre-production and production management to pipeline development and international co-production — forms the core competency of JWK ENT.
JWK ENT is currently pursuing global co-production and investment for its two flagship projects, Haesol and The Millennium Forest. Haesol advanced to the final round of the Korea Story Contest, selected from approximately 2,500 submissions, and was presented through an on-site pitching session at MIFA, the industry market of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, in 2025. The project has also passed the preliminary review of a Korea Creative Content Agency animation planning and development program and is currently under final review, with results expected in June.
JWK ENT aims to develop premium feature-length animated films that combine a distinctly Korean worldview with universally resonant emotional storytelling, and to expand these works into global IP across multiple formats, including theatrical releases, series, games, publishing, and character licensing.
