"Hallucination of Horror"
Gu Hyeon-dam sends a letter of appeal to the king and ends up being impeached and exiled. On his way to exile in a cage-cart pulled by a bull, a huge frog jumps out. The officer in charge of the escort kills the frog in fear of scaring the bull, and the leader of Geumwagyo, a religious group that deifies frogs, curses, "You can never go back." Worried that the followers of Geumwagyo might come after them, the members of the exile procession quicken their step. But they get attacked by a group of thieves that could either be Geumwagyo worshippers or bandits. The bull gets stolen, and everyone gets killed except Gu Hyeon-dam, Uigeumbu official Na In-cheol, and officer Jang So-gyu. Wandering without a guide, the group arrives in Seopju, a cursed land where supernatural accidents are known to happen. Hyeon-dam and his crew spot a man covered in blood with his eyes dug out lying on the ground near the totem pole at the village boundary. When they talk to the man, he shouts back, "Hallucinations will happen to you! Don't be fooled! Don't trust anyone!"

"The Black Bull"
Ganchon is a small village deep in the mountains in the late Joseon period. One day, an official appears with a bull claiming that he has brought an order from his office. The order is a strange one, telling the villagers to take good care of the bull and flourish the village. Everyone in the village, including the village leader, isn't happy with it, but they decide to raise the bull lest something bad happens. The bull is an extremely strong one. Even though it'll work if it's whipped, it stares at the villagers with sharp eyes. It acts like a strong man, showing a hint of his capabilities but hiding his true skills, warning people not to touch him. Since the day the bull arrives, the villagers start to have strange nightmares. Old Man Deok-gu, who has dementia, claims that the bull told him to follow him and urinated on his head. He gets ill for some days before he passes away. Then, a gentle moon bear dies with a child's arm sticking out from its mouth and the child's parents dead below the cliff. It doesn't look like the bear attacked the family; rather, it looks as though the bull killed the bear and the family and then disguised it as the bear's doing. The village leader calls Mr. Cheon and asks him to write a letter to the district magistrate of Seopju to take the bull away. The district magistrate of Seopju hears the news and decides to dispatch a military officer.

"The Samurai from Hell"
Yasuo Kobayashi, known as the "Day Owl," is the most skilled thief. He speaks three languages, and he is actually the son of a fisherman from Joseon. One day he gets captured by Lord Toshiro Sagamori and receives a special command: to go to a man named Kim Guk-do while there's chaos created by the war and steal a certain object. Yasuo refuses, but Lord Sagamori holds Yasuo's younger sister captive and threatens him. Lord Sagamori's son Ryunosuke, his vassal Tokubei, and Yasuo, who is in charge of translation, disguise themselves as Japanese soldiers to advance into Joseon. At night they start their secret work. Yasuo and his crew find Kim Guk-do, hold his family hostage, and threaten him to give them "the stone with a black smoke." Kim Guk-do remains calm, until Ryunosuke cuts Yasuo's arm and green blood trickles down. Shocked at the sight, Guk-do guides them to a cave to give them the stone.
