The Man with a Matchlock Gun

In 1438, the twentieth regnal year of King Sejong, the Gwigyeong Miscellaneous Records was a notorious book of prophets that was banned because it was believed to deny the founding myth and mystify the people. This strange prophecy contained stories of the One True God of Heaven and Earth and his minion aliens seeking eagerly to invade the Earth, and it brought chaos and fear to the society. Readers will realize that all the stories are related to the Gwigyeong Miscellaneous Records, which is the beginning and the end of all fear.

People suddenly disappear. Upon continued investigation, the investigators discover a common experience among the missing, for which the banned prophecy, the Gwigyeong Miscellaneous Records provides a clue. The investigators find those who experience the same thing and stake out. Then a man with a matchlock gun appears from nowhere, and the man who gets shot by him vanishes at the spot. The investigators run after the matchlock man, who runs at an incredible speed, but can't catch him. A few days later, the man with a matchlock gun shows up at Podocheong, Agency for Thieves Arresting, to turn himself in. But he makes a strange statement, "A new world is coming." The investigators are about to interrogate the man when a messenger runs in, saying a corpse is attacking people.

"Secret Royal Inspector"
Toringyeol is a secret private group that studies the banned prophecy, the Gwigyeong Miscellaneous Records. Some members have joined the group to protect themselves again the attack of aliens, but there are others who want to use the mysterious power of the prophecy for their own good. Because they attend the meetings wearing a face mask, the members don't know each other, apart from the founder, Scholar Nakan. Then one day, two of the members get into a fight and end up seeing each other's face. This creates confusion and the group breaks up. One of the men in the fight, Yi Eung-su, an official of Seopju, takes the face mask of his opponent with him. When a secret royal inspector comes to Seopju one day, Eung-su finds out that it's the man he fought in Toringyeol. The two start a secret fight with each other's life as the prize.
