Animated Feature – 200 Pounds Beauty

This animated feature film is a contemporary reimagining of the hit 2006 Korean live-action movie 200 Pounds Beauty. The story follows Hanna Kang, a talented young woman with an extraordinary singing voice who works behind the scenes as the “shadow vocalist” for a famous K-pop star. Despite her remarkable talent, Hanna lacks the confidence to stand in the spotlight because of her appearance, and she lives in the shadow of others while secretly dreaming of becoming a true artist.

After discovering that the producer she trusted has only been using her as a tool to support the star she sings for, Hanna’s world collapses. At her lowest moment, she is given an unexpected opportunity for a radical transformation. After a year of dramatic change, Hanna returns to the world with a completely new appearance and a chance to pursue the career she always wanted.

As she rises to fame as a new K-pop star, Hanna finally gains everything she once dreamed of—recognition, success, and love. However, when the truth about her past begins to surface, she must confront a difficult question: whether she can truly be accepted for who she really is.

Combining music, emotion, and the vibrant energy of K-pop culture, this animated adaptation tells a universal story about identity, self-acceptance, and the courage to reveal one’s true voice.
