Founded in 1980, KYOBO BOOK CENTRE becomes the Korea’s largest bookstore with the Korea’s largest offline bookstore distribution network and eBook platform. “Macaron”, a sub-brand of KYOBO BOOK CENTRE , is unearthing various contents, such as novel, web novels, etc., to satisfy readers’ emotions.
In the case of “Single Ville” - the winner of the 1st Kyobo Book Story Contest, 24-episode drama titled 'Jiindanshiajeilgi' was broadcast on Hunan TV in 2015 after copyright agreement and was ranked No.1 in China. In Korea, KYOBO BOOK CENTRE sold and brokered about 30 IP copyrights, producing works which were officially selected as “Book To Film” at Pusan International Film Festival for 4 consecutive years from 2016 to 2019, including “Shift” and “Koshiman”.

Recently, KYOBO BOOK CENTRE’s capability of unearthing and developing original IP copyright led to visible results. In 2019, KYOBO BOOK CENTRE signed an agreement for more than 10 domestic and international original copyrights and publishing agency. In the case of the novel “Chosun Marriage Agency, Flow Crew” (Kim, I-rang), the original writer participated in the script of JTBC’s drama and the drama ranked as first in the drama trend. In addition, “Let me listen to your song” based on KYOBO BOOK CENTRE’s web novel, “Let me make you sleep” is broadcast via KBS receiving a favorable response. In Dec 2019, a drama of the same name based on short story “Luwak Human will be broadcast via JTBC. Recently, KYOBO BOOK CENTRE is selling webtoon original IP rights. In collaboration with To You Dream, “An evil is changing” and “Savior of Villain” ranked first in the romance and fantasy genre on the domestic main platforms such as Kakao Page and Tencent, the largest platform in China.
