Summary
Yoon Geon needs the technology of Gyu Young’s biological father, Min Guk. To break off Gyu Young’s engagement, he uses Hee Young to lure her fiancé, Ji Hyuk, into an affair. As planned, Gyu Young’s engagement falls apart, leaving her devastated—not only by the betrayal itself, but also by the resurfacing trauma of having witnessed her father’s infidelity as a child. Even after achieving his goal, however, Yoon Geon finds himself inexplicably drawn to her.
Yoon Geon later discovers that the woman he has been seeing in his dreams for the past ten years is none other than Gyu Young, and comes to believe that being with her may be the key to relieving his abnormal symptoms. He pushes her further into a corner, making her increasingly dependent on him. Gyu Young, wounded and too proud to lean on anyone, gradually falls in love with Yoon Geon, who appears by her side whenever she is at her weakest.
But when Ji Hyuk reveals that Yoon Geon was behind all of her misfortunes, Gyu Young is overwhelmed by a profound sense of betrayal. Yoon Geon, too late, admits to himself that he has fallen in love with her, but Gyu Young resolves to leave him.
Suppressing the destructive desire to keep her by his side at any cost, Yoon Geon steps back for her sake for the first time. In his despair and sincerity, Gyu Young finally sees the truth of his feelings. In the end, the two confront and embrace each other’s wounds, confirming their love and bringing their relationship to its final resolution.
