Summary
Mun-su, the last surviving royal inspector of the fallen kingdom of Jyushin, saves Chunhyang, the lover of the man who once healed him, and makes her his bodyguard, Sando. When he hears of a mysterious figure who can bring people back to life, Mun-su believes this could be the one responsible for Jyushin's destruction—Aji-tae. His search leads to dead ends and encounters with strange figures, including Bangja, a silent follower, and former comrades turned enemies.
In a fierce battle with his former comrades, Mun-su's phantom-summoning tablet is shattered, and Sando is gravely injured. However, a white-haired passerby (Aji-tae) heals her, and with the help of Miss Hwang, Mun-su defeats Wonsul and Wonhyo before visiting blacksmith Mito to repair and upgrade his shattered tablet.
As the group continues, Aji-tae's forces capture Sando, who had previously left Mun-su after numerous defeats along their journey. Mun-su then faces off against Hong Gildong, an imposter claiming to be his lost love, Gye Wol-hyang. With war looming, Aji-tae reveals his true plan: to erase the concepts of good and evil and resurrect the world.
However, Mun-su is mortally wounded and dies, but before his last breath, he entrusts Bangja to inject him with the Mandarake needle. As Yeongshil and Bangja search for an antidote, they encounter a brainwashed Sando. Now unleashing absolute evil, Aji-tae believes he will enlighten the world, but none of Mun-su's allies can stand against him as the world teeters on the edge of annihilation.
