Summary

CAPRA Real Time Interactive HDR UP-MAP is a software engine that converts SDR video to HDR in real time. HDR displays are now the default, yet most broadcast and live streaming still arrive in SDR; UP-MAP closes that gap inside the delivery pipeline. Each frame, it measures the scene’s characteristics to bound its valid expansion range, then applies the optimal conversion from a colorist-authored LUT library. Diffuse whites such as clothing and graphics hold their tone; only specular highlights expand; no glare, no color distortion. Measurement takes under 50 ms, and the engine runs on CPU alone, embedding into server encoders, cloud pipelines, and endpoint devices, with SDI, SRT, and HLS I/O and PQ and HLG output. It has converted live tour golf to Dolby Vision commercially since March 2026, with K-pop music videos, game streams, and live commerce validated. Patent registration is currently in progress.

Other

CAPRA Pictures is a media tech company that produces video content and builds the technology behind it.

Our in-house pipeline runs from planning through final post-production. We have produced global brand commercials for Samsung, Nike, Coca-Cola, and Dyson, leading K-pop music videos, and 3D anamorphic out-of-home media.

We also build our own video technology, driven by needs we see firsthand in production: real-time SDR-to-HDR conversion, AI-generated video detection, and AI-driven post-production automation. Every technology we build is deployed on our own commercial projects first, proven on real work rather than in the lab.
