This drama is being developed with the involvement of a producer who spent 15 years as an intelligence analyst at the FBI(Hunter Lee), ensuring the accurate depiction of real-life events and the challenges faced by real experts.
The script is written by Shinho Lee, the legendary screenwriter of the Korean human thriller The Chaser (2008, Director: Na Hong-jin) and a professor at NYU’s film school. He is writing the initial drafts in English, allowing for smooth communication and adaptation for international investment.
Planned as an 8-episode series, over 70% of the dialogue will be in English. Although it is a crime drama, it features a lively rhythm and comedic elements, maintaining a violence and nudity rating appropriate for -17 audiences.
The main characters and supporting roles will all be portrayed by fluent English speakers. While set in Seoul, this will be the first Korean drama aimed at global audiences, particularly targeting European and English-speaking markets.
The casting strategy includes Korean-American actors who are already making their mark in the U.S. and established stars from Korea, with a plan to maximize effectiveness in the Asian market.
Some scenes will be filmed in Southern California, and the estimated production cost is $2 million per episode, totaling $16 million. The production is scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025.
