Hyeonryeong, born with the ability to see what must never be seen—the spirits known as yokai—has grown up among them. Though he is a son born out of wedlock, he knows his father watches him closely. Hyeonryeong suspects the reason lies in both his mysterious power and the strange scar carved into the left side of his chest.
Meanwhile, a series of gruesome murders and fires break out in his village. At one horrifying crime scene, surrounded by yokai, Hyeonryeong encounters a young girl named Gapjin, who carries a peculiar and captivating scent. Soon, he discovers that a yokai called Guiho stands behind the unfolding tragedies—and that Guiho once made a secret pact with his father.
Determined to defeat Guiho and claim his place as a “human,” Hyeonryeong sets out on a journey with Gapjin.
Will the two uncover the truth behind their fateful connection—and the secret bound to his heart?
