Summary
ILJIMAE: SHADOW OF JUSTICE is an eight-part crime-action thriller that reimagines Korea’s legendary masked outlaw in Seoul. When a courier for an international drug ring is arrested at Incheon Airport, CCTV footage and testimony vanish within seven minutes. Detective Baek Sun-woo traces the crime to a cartel linking prosecutors, customs officials, conglomerates, and the presidential office.

As prosecutor Kang Do-yoon leads the cover-up, Sun-woo, prosecutor Yoon Chae-rin, and journalist Han Yu-ra form an alliance against tycoon Jang Man-sik and an overseas drug network.
Combining cinematic action with political intrigue, the series asks: Who delivers justice when the law betrays it? Rooted in a Korean hero myth yet driven by universal themes of corruption, vengeance, and moral choice, it is designed for global remakes and future seasons.
