Journey to the West: The Gate of Ten Thousand Demons is a 16-episode animated television series that reimagines the classic Chinese epic for modern audiences.
Fourteen hundred years ago, the monk Sanzang sealed countless demons inside the "Gate of Ten Thousand Demons." Before long, a mysterious creature opened gateways through time, allowing the demons to escape into the year 2026. With no way to follow them, Sanzang sealed Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing in stone, believing that one day his descendant would awaken them.
In the present day, high school student Seo Ha-neul unknowingly breaks the seal, reviving the legendary heroes. As time gates begin opening across the modern world, demons emerge one after another, forcing the heroes to embark on a new journey to protect humanity.
