Summary

"Run, Hani" is a South Korean romance comic drawn by Lee Jin-Ju. It is also one of the early animated television series produced by KBS. The story depicts the journey of the main character, Hani, a young girl who loses her mother at a young age and overcomes hardships to grow into a track and field athlete.

The comic was popular and serialized in the comic magazine "Treasure Island" from 1985 to 1987, right before the 1986 Asian Games and the 1988 Seoul Olympics. It was adapted into an animated film in 1988. "Run, Hani" is the first TV animation series in South Korea. The first episode revolves around Hani, a new student at Binnari Middle School, who grows into a track and field athlete under the guidance and care of Teacher Hong Duk-Kae. However, after injuring her leg in a track and field event, followed by a car accident that damages her Achilles tendon, she transitions to a long-distance runner.
