The piece 'SOMU' from the ‘Jungdaeup’ of 'Jongmyo Jeryeak' (Royal Ancestral Ritual Music) was originally music played during the Joseon kings' prayers to wish blessings upon the deceased monarchs. 'SANGJARU' reinterpreted and arranged this music in their own style, while ‘AMBERIN’ aims to depict transcendent visuals such as the infinite universe, sky, shamans, gods, and the movement of stars in a modern context.
Additionally, they expressed these concepts through the dance 'MUMU', which traditionally features restrained and abstract movements. This was juxtaposed with expansive and dynamic contemporary dance choreography, showcasing a harmony of contrasts.
The performer was filmed using chromakey and volumetric capture techniques to digitize both 2D and 3D videos. The large-scale 'MUMU' was newly created and arranged in 3D space to present various visuals. Using diffusion model-based image generation AI with natural elements as input prompts, they visualized 'SOMU' as a ceremony for the true self and a ceremony for the cosmos.
